There are moments in life when time collapses, and you see clearly how everything has led you to this point.
Last night, I found myself sitting in my favorite spot, reflecting on the tools I’ve developed and the progress I’ve made toward my dream of writing. Out of nowhere, Simon & Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water began to play. The song transported me back 35 years, to a young girl sitting at a record player, dreaming of a life bigger than her surroundings. Back then, I didn’t know how to make it happen. But now, as the same song played, I realized I had the tools, the practice, and the clarity I didn’t have then. It was as though my younger self was reaching across time to remind me: This is your time to shine.
A flood of emotions washed over me. Relief. Joy. Grief. Gratitude. It felt as though every ounce of energy I had spent wrestling, struggling, and longing was suddenly released. My body shook, tears streamed down my face, and my jaw quivered as I let go of decades of unprocessed emotions. It wasn’t just the music. It was the profound realization that I finally had the ability to bring my dreams to life. The synchronicity of that song in this moment wasn’t an accident—it was my inner essence guiding me, telling me, You’re ready now.
I understood in that moment that my dream was never about being famous or recognized by others. It was always about the connection I have with myself. Writing isn’t just a goal—it’s a celebration of all the aspects within me: the dreamer, the navigator, the risk-taker, the creator. The years of struggle, the moments of doubt—they were all necessary to bring me here. And now, I see that prioritizing my dreams is an act of self-love and self-trust. Every choice I make to align with this dream strengthens my ability to create new realities.
Sometimes, the most profound moments happen in the quiet of your own company. They remind you that everything you’ve ever needed has always been within you. The key is to listen to your energy stream, to trust the synchronicities, and to make choices that align with your truth. What if we allowed ourselves to let go of the struggle and instead focused on creating from a place of love and trust? Imagine what we could build if we gave ourselves permission to shine.
Here’s to creating our own reality,
Anke Joanne.
