Meet your inner hero
Getting to know the Inner Hero:
Your Inner Hero is the part of you that stays in touch with your deepest desires, inner truth, and the energy stream of all that is. It’s the aspect of your consciousness that steers your train in alignment with who you truly are—beyond the influence of external expectations. When your Inner Hero is in control, you make choices that resonate with your true self, and you feel a deep sense of alignment, purpose, and fulfillment.
However, there are forces at play within us that often take control away from the Inner Hero. These are the Twelve Disciples within you. Each disciple represents a different part of your personality, developed from societal expectations, upbringing, and the roles you felt pressured to adopt as you grew up. Each disciple has both positive and negative traits and can take over the controls of your train at any time. But whether they are acting from their positive or negative side, their agenda is always aligned with reinforcing the ego, the outer identity you’ve built based on how others saw or needed you.
The Agenda of the Disciples:
The Twelve Disciples serve your ego. Their actions are usually driven by what is expected of you from society, your parents, or other external influences. For example, the disciple of Pride might push you to succeed outwardly, constantly seeking validation from others. On the other hand, when this disciple flips to its negative side, you might fall into self-criticism and withdrawal, feeling like you’ll never measure up.
Even though these disciples have their roles, they are not your true self. They are programmed responses, operating on autopilot to keep you within the familiar boundaries of what others expect from you. When a disciple is steering the train, it blocks out the inner signals coming from your deeper energy stream because these signals rarely align with the disciple’s ego-driven agenda.
The Role of the Inner Hero:
Your Inner Hero is different. It’s that calm, centered part of you that doesn’t need external validation. It knows what is truly important for your growth and fulfillment, and it guides you toward that by steering your train toward the main track—the path that aligns with your desires and authentic self. The Inner Hero helps you navigate away from the sidetracks the disciples often lead you down, guiding you back to your true path.
The key is to activate your Inner Hero—to recognize when a disciple has taken control and then consciously choose to place your Inner Hero back at the controlpanel.
Action time!
Now the first part, is de easy part. Getting your head up to speed with the knowledge. Now comes the more challenging part; learning how to take over the controls, as your inner disciples might have their own agenda!
Now that you understand the role of your Inner Hero and the Twelve Disciples, it’s time to learn how to activate your Inner Hero in everyday life. This practical guide will help you recognize when a disciple has taken over and teach you how to shift back into your Inner Hero’s control, so you can align with your true energy stream.
Step 1: Recognize When a Disciple is Steering the Train
The first step in this process is awareness. Pay attention to how you’re feeling and acting. Are you driven by enthusiasm, fear, pride, or anxiety? Is there a sense of urgency or a need for validation? If so, it’s likely that one of your disciples has taken the wheel.
Each disciple has both positive and negative traits, but whether you’re being overly enthusiastic or withdrawing into self-doubt, the outcome is the same—the disciple is steering you away from your true path. Recognizing this is the crucial first step.
• Am I feeling driven by an external need or a fear of missing out?
• Is my mind racing with thoughts about what others expect of me?
• Do I feel disconnected from my calm, centered self? When the answer is yes, one of your disciples is likely at the controls.Once you’ve recognized that a disciple has taken over, it’s time to switch the controls back to your Inner Hero. This requires an intentional pause and reset.
Here are some simple ways to activate your Inner Hero:
1. Pause and Breathe: Take a moment to stop whatever you’re doing. Breathe deeply—four counts in, four counts out—and focus on the warmth in your chest. This simple act of bringing your attention inward helps you reconnect with your energy stream and quiets the noise from the disciples.
2. Use the 5-Second Rule: If you catch yourself stuck in a disciple’s mindset, count down 5-4-3-2-1 and make a conscious decision to refocus. This gives you a clear moment to choose your Inner Hero over the disciple. When you take that brief pause, you regain control over the choices you’re making.
3. Visualize Your Inner Hero: Imagine your Inner Hero stepping up to the controls, taking over the steering wheel, and guiding your train back to the main track. This visualization helps solidify the shift in your mind and body, allowing you to move out of the disciple’s grip and back into your true energy.
Step 3: Stay Connected to the Energy Stream
Once your Inner Hero is back at the controls, keep your attention centered on your energy stream. It’s essential to stay present, not allowing distractions or external pressures to pull you back into the disciple’s grasp.
Try these grounding techniques to stay connected:
• Feel the Sensation of Your Body: Focus on your feet touching the ground or the rise and fall of your breath. These sensations remind you that you are here, present in your own energy.
• Engage in a Simple Physical Action: Whether it’s walking, cooking, or doing a small task, bring your awareness fully into the action. This keeps you grounded and prevents your attention from being scattered.
• Ask Yourself: “What is my true desire right now?” When you ask this question, your Inner Hero steers you toward actions that align with your deeper self, rather than actions driven by external pressures.
Step 4: Reflect and Adjust
At the end of the day, take time to reflect. Did your Inner Hero stay in control? Were there moments when a disciple tried to take over? What signals did you miss? Use this reflection to fine-tune your awareness, learning from the moments when the disciples took over and celebrating the moments when your Inner Hero was fully present. This step reinforces the practice and strengthens your ability to return to your Inner Hero more quickly each time.
• Reflect: After putting your Inner Hero at the controls, take a moment to assess how you feel. Is there a sense of calmness and detachment? Do you feel like the external world is moving apart from you, rather than pulling you into it? These feelings are indicators that you are in alignment.
• Adjust: If you notice agitation, mental loops, or the presence of any of the twelve disciples steering the wheel, this is an opportunity to pause and realign with your Inner Hero. By redirecting your focus back inward and allowing the calm to settle in, you can regain control and adjust your responses from a place of clarity rather than reaction.
This positioning makes the reflection part of a continual practice of recognising the difference between the external agenda driven forces by the twelve disciples and your internal guidance system, which only your inner hero can navigate. As it’s the only one not having an agenda except the one of leading you towards the tracks that lead you towards experiences you wanted to explore as a whole human being. That the mental experience of the event and the emotional experience of the event.
